November 7-9, Paro: The National Research and Development Centre for Aquaculture (NRDCA), Department of Livestock (DoL) is hosting a SAARC meeting on “Framing Policies for Transboundary Aquatic Disease Management in South Asia” at Metta Resort. Participants include delegates from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The meeting is aimed to increase understanding on current status of diseases of aquatic animals, their quarantine measures, surveillance, monitoring, diagnosis, research and development and prioritise areas of collaboration and partnerships in SAARC member countries. It will also sensitise and strengthen policies for aquaculture and fisheries development and identify skills development needs for capacity building in managing aquatic diseases in South Asia.
