    The Divisional Forest Office, Bumthang invites bids for the construction of works detailed in the table below:

    1. Bidding documents may download from moaf.gov.bt from 08/08/2016 to 23/08/2016.
    2. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of quoted amount in favor of Chief Forestry Officer, Divisional Forest Office, Batbalathang, Bumthang. Bid security will have to be in any one of the forms as specified in the bidding document and shall have to be valid for 30 days beyond the validity of the bid.
    3. Bids must be delivered to Divisional Forest Office, Batbalathang, Bumthang on or before 12:00hrs on 23/08/2016 and will be opened on the same day at 14:30 hrs in the presence of bidders who wish to attend.
    4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Divisional Forest Office, Bumthang during office hours @ Telephone number 03631182/631116.

  • YES Internship Program 2016-2018

    The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment, Lamai Goempa, Bumthang Bhutan is pleased to announce Young Environmental Scholar’s (YES) internship program for undergraduates students (one male and female). The 22 months full-time internship program will start from September 2016 till June 2018. Upon selection candidates will be engaged with researchers at the Institute in various fields to assist research program and help coordinating seminars, training and conferences organized by the institute.

  • Message from Hon’ble Lyonpo on Global Tiger Day

    Lyonpo-Yeshey-Dorji1Every year 29th July is celebrated as Global Tiger Day to promote public awareness and garner support for tiger conservation works at the global and local level. The day was adopted in 2010 at the St. Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia in response to the rapid decline of tiger population.

    Tigers are an integral part of religious and socio-cultural heritage in Asia besides being at the top of the ecosystem and are truly the King of Forests. In spite of being such a significant creature, tigers are now restricted to only 13 countries from its previous range of whole of Asia. Tiger population in the wild declined from more than 100,000 at the dawn of the century to less than 3900 individuals today .
