2 July 2014, Ura, Bumthang: In the past, compensation schemes adopted by DoFPS was targeted towards compensating the livestock loss to Tiger, Snow leopard, Asiatic Black Bear and Common Leopard which was downsized to two key predators (Tiger and Snow Leopard only) due to dearth of fund which had been donated earlier by some foreign philanthropists. It was primarily initiated to prevent retaliatory actions against the endangered wild animals.

30 June 2014, Bumthang: 30 Foresters and 5 Natural Resources Development Corporation Limited (NRDCL) Field Assistants celebrated their graduation day on 30 June 2014, at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE), Lamai Goempa, Bumthang. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was the Lam Neten of Jakar Rabdhey. Other sector heads of the Dzongkhag also attended the celebration.
All the students successfully completed a one-year certificate course in Conservation, Environment and Forestry Studies.

9-12 June 2014, Lamaigonpa, Bumthang: The National Centre of Animal Nutrition, Department of Livestock, Bumthang in collaboration with the Ugyen Wangchuk Institute for Conservation and Environment is the organiser of the 4 days training from 9/6/2014 to 12/6/2014 on “Basic Global Positioning System (GPS)”at Lamaigonpa, Bumthang. The training is being attended by 15 Livestock Extension Officers from Lunana, Lingzhi, Soe, Sephu, Bumdeling and Khoma Geogs.The training is funded by the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environment Conservation under the HANAs Project.

1-7 June, Bumthang: Her Royal Highness Ashi Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck inaugurated the opening of the 14th International Congress for Ethno-Biology at Ugyen Wangchuk Stadium in Chamkhar under Bumthang Dzongkhag. There are almost 200 Bhutanese participants and 400 international participants of 56 countries from 6 continents.
