    May 27, Thimphu: To enhance the programs in forestry and natural resources, the Department of Forests and Park Services (DoFPS) and the Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI), Republic of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the Terma Linka Hotel. Dr. Choi Sei-Kyun, the President for KREI and Mr. Chencho Norbu, the Director General for DoFPS represented the two agencies.

  • Internal Memo on Social Forestry Day 2015

    On the  occasion  of Social  Forestry   Day coinciding  with  Coronation  Day of our  Fourth  Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Department of Forests and Park Services under Ministry of Agriculture    and    Forests    is   establishing   60   acres    plantation   above    Samarzingkha    to commemorate the 60th Birth Anniversary of our Beloved Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

    All the  officials working  in different  agencies  under  Ministry  of Agriculture  and  Forests  are urged  to celebrate the  day  by planting  trees  and  attend  to the  ceremony  without  fail. All are requested to bring along their own planting tools.

    May 20, Thimphu: Towards effective and market driven plantations, landscaping and other diversified products, His Excellency, Joao Cravinho, EU Ambassador to India and Bhutan, and the Hon’ble Agriculture Minister, Yeshey Dorji inaugurated the Green Bhutan initiative at Serbithang. Their Excellencies also inaugurated the new biking trail in Kuenselphodrang.
