  • Invitation for Bids

    The Royal Government of Bhutan has received a credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Remote Rural Communities Development Project (RRCDP) and intends to apply a part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contracts for construction of works as detailed below. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and Grants by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011. Bidders from Bhutan should, however, be registered with the Construction Development Board (CDB). Bidders are advised to note the minimum qualification criteria specified in Clause 4 of the Instructions to Bidders to qualify for the award of the contract.

    The Remote Rural Communities Development Project (RRCDP), Ministry of Agriculture & Forests, Thimphu invites bids for the construction of works detailed in the table below.

  • A new approach of promoting fruits in the east

    Farmers Training

    January 27- February 3, Mongar: The Second session of the training program under Systematic training and orchard establishment for the farmers is underway at the centre for the period of 10 days. The first session of the training was completed at the beginning of this year from 1st to 10th January 2016 with the farmers of Trashigang, Pemagatshel and Samdrupjongkhar. For this session the total of 22 farmers from Lhuentse, Mongar and Trashiyangtse are here to learn about Nursery production, planting, basin making, Fertilisation and Pruning.

    Every year such training is organised by Research and Development Center (RDC) Wengkhar to promote more fruits and vegetables for the six eastern regions. While organising such trainings, firstly farmers were selected from the target Dzongkhags based on the implementation guide and on horticulture production potential in collaboration with the Dzongkhag and geog agriculture extensions. The selected farmers were given two days of awareness program on horticultural crops wherein participants were exposed to available technologies at the centre. At the end of the awareness program, further consultations were made and the most interested candidates were selected. Farmers were then called for hands on practice on improved orchard management practices for the duration of 10 days at RDC Wengkhar.

  • Regional coordination Workshop on Joint Collaborative activities

    Regional Workshop19-21 January, Mongar: RNR RDC Wengkhar organised three days regional collaborative workshop to discuss Annual Performance Agreement (APA) and Commodity Program Planning and collaborative activities in line with Annual Performance Agreement Targets and Indicators for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.

    The workshop reviewed the progress of ongoing work, planned collaborative work plan for 2016-17, realigned APA targets and indicators. The forum enabled reviving the incorporation of central program activities, project activities and regional program activities into Dzongkhag plan for effective implementation and to enhance the linkages.

    In continuation to vacancy Re-announcement vide No. No.Bajo/IHPP-JICA-15/2015-2016/598, dated December 29, 2015, applications are re-invited from the interested Bhutanese Nationals for the post of Basic Operator under ESP category. The selected incumbents shall be recruited to implement the Technical Cooperation Project(TCP), Integrated Horticulture Promotion Project, RNR-RDC, Bajo, Wangduephodrang for a period of 5 years from December 2015 to December 2020. Apart from basic operators’ job responsibilities, the incumbents shall also carry out other works as and when assigned.

    14 January, Thimphu: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday among Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF), College of Natural Resources (CNR) and Hirosaki University, Japan to implement a project aimed at capacity building and introduction of innovative technologies to improve apple production, productivity and processing in the country.
