    This pertains to the Notice Inviting Tender for the Construction of Maize Processing Plant at Lingmithang under Mongar Dzongkhag which is schedule to open on June 17th 2016. In this regard, we regret to inform all the prospective bidder that the above Tender is cancelled due to insufficient technical parameters and design for the pre-fabricated components including number of missing items.

    The same will be announced at a later date. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted.

  • Environmental & Social Management Framework for Hydro-met & Disaster Improvement Regional Project

    The Department of Agriculture, as one of the implementing partners of the World Bank funded Hydro-met and Disaster Improvement Regional Project is pleased to declare the Environment and Social Management Framework (ESMF) as per the requirement of the donor. It is jointly prepared by the Department of Disaster Management, MoHCA, Department of Hydro-met Services, MoEA and Department of Agriculture, MoAF with the guidance from the World Bank.

    The Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) describes the principles and procedures for addressing environmental and social impacts associated with the project in accordance with the Royal Government of Bhutan’s (RGOB) laws and regulations and World Bank’s safeguards policies.

  • Sensitisation program for youth on soil, land, watershed management and REDD+ readiness Program

    11 June, 2016, Thimphu: In its quest to create awareness on the importance of sustainable management of the natural resources, the National Soil Services Centre (NSSC) of the Department of Agriculture and Watershed Management Division (WMD) of the Department of Forests and Park Services conducted a sensitisation workshop for youth in six colleges from May 2 to 28, 2016.

    Officials from NSSC and WMD kick-started the month long program from the College of Natural Resources (CNR) and ended from Royal Thimphu College (RTC). The event was participated by over 2000 student participants and faculty members in total.
