    The Watershed Management Division, Department of Forests and Park Services, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests would like to hire one national consultant for various work packages under REDD+ Readiness Programme of Bhutan. In this regard, we would like to invite ‘Expression of Interest’ from individual consultants for carrying out the works. The detail of work packages, tasks, payment and working mandays can be downloaded from the link below.

    National Plant Protection Centre would like to inform to all DAOs & Agriculture Sale Service Representatives (ASSRs) that the supply of Butachlor for this season will commence with immediate effect.

    Therefore, all ASSRs are requested to collect Butachlor from NPPC available for sale @ Nu 37/= per Kg (Nu 370 per 10 Kg bag). The minimum quantity required to be lifted using DCM is 5 MT and 8 MT for Truck. Owing to high costs, transportation using Pickups/Bolero will not be entertained from this year.

    ASSRs intending to procure Butachlor may deposit the cost of Butachlor in our new Account bearing No. 100890599 (SBA for Revolving Fund) and must provide following information along with Bank Deposit Slip: –

  • CIMMYT and ICAR Wheat scientists visit RDC Bajo

    Untitled-1Wangdue: On April 10, three wheat scientists, Dr. Arun Joshi from CIMMYT-Nepal, Dr. Girish Mishra from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Dr. Ravish Chatrath from the Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research, Karnal under ICAR visited RDC-Bajo.

    The main purpose of their visit was to assess the ongoing collaborative wheat research activities, monitor the rust situation and explore the areas of future collaboration in wheat Research and Development. Such field visit during the wheat season from the international and regional wheat centres have been an annual event since 2011. The field crops researchers also participated during the visit for the discussion and interaction with the visiting team.

  • Consultation meeting on Vegetable Go To School Project

    Untitled-1April 8, Thimphu: A consultation meeting on Vegetable Go To School (VeGoTs ) Project was held at Hotel Rochogpel with nine delegates from Nepal Vegetable Go To School Project, official from Policy and Planning Division and country’s team members from the Department of School Health and Nutrition and Department of Agriculture (DoA). The meeting was chaired by Ganesh Chhetri, the Offtg. Director General of DoA.

    The meeting shared the experiences and update on the project achievements implemented in last three years with funding from Asian Vegetable Research Development Center (AVRDC) Taiwan through Swiss Agency for Development and Corporation (SDC).
