  • Inauguration of Kuchi Diana Irrigation Scheme

    20916 January 2017, Samtse: His Excellency, Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel, Ministry of Information and Communication formally inaugurated Kuchi Diana Irrigation scheme at Yoeseltse Gewog under Samtse Dzongkhag. The irrigation scheme which is 7.2 Km long will benefit more than 300 households of Yoeseltse and Sang Ngagcholing gewogs and it will irrigate more than 950 acres of land.

    The construction started on 6 March 2015 and it was completed on 2 October 2016. The work has been carried out by M/s Chapcha Engineering Pvt. Ltd.

    January 13-16, Dagana: The Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Forests, Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji, Member of Parliament for the Drukjeygang Tseza Constituency, officials from Dagana Dzongkhag Administration and MoAF officials, visited the eight geogs of Tashiding, Gozhi, Tseza, Karna, Khebisa, Dorona, Gesarling and Tsendagang.

  • AMC’s School Farm Mechanisation Programme ongoing

    amc117 January 2017: Twenty-five high school students from eastern Bhutan have been undergoing a one month farm mechanisation training which started from January 3, 2017 at the Khangma office of the Agriculture Machinery Centre (AMC). The training had been purposely coincided with the students’ winter vacation to enable the training and to engage them fruitfully. The objective of the training is to impart the importance, benefits and opportunities in farm mechanisation activities in the agriculture sector.

    The curriculum consists of operation and maintenance of different farm machineries including the power tiller. The knowledge and skills gained can also be passed on to their families, relatives and village folks upon their return to their villages. Hereafter, this training shall be a routine activity of AMC every January.

  • AMC officially hands over machines, equipment, vehicles and land to FMCL

    amc_fmc17 January: Agriculture Machinery Centre officially handed over farm machines, workshop tools and equipment, fabrication machines, vehicles, land and buildings under the phase I to the Farm Machinery Corporation Limited on Friday at the AMTS conference hall in Paro in the presence of the Director, Department of Agriculture. The signing and exchange of the documents was done between the offtg. Programme Director of AMC and the Chief Executive Officer of Farm Machinery Corporation Limited.

    All eight Farm Machinery Service Units (FMSC) which were sub-centres of the regional centres were also handed over to FMCL with all the machines and equipments. Agriculture Machinery Centre is again working on the spare parts verification and it will also be handed over to FMCL under phase II along with geog power tillers once the official verifications are completed. However informally, this lot had also been handed over.
