    The Project Management Unit, Food Security and Agriculture Productivity Project, Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests would like to invite the qualified suppliers to submit the tenders to supply the Inputs for Protected Agriculture and Water Use Efficient Irrigation Inputs for Vegetable Production.   • Annual Writeshop held at ARDC-Wengkhar

    September 17-18, Mongar: Staff from the Agriculture Research Development Centre (ARDC)-Wengkhar, its sub-centres and Office of the Programme Management-CARLEP attended the annual writeshop to document research papers and other developmental works from the past year and enhance its proper documentation and information dissemination.

    The writeshop finalised papers for international journals, Bhutanese Journal of Agriculture, Sanam Drubdrey and articles for CARLEP website.

  • AMC officially released four books on Farm Mechanization

    12 September, Thimphu: The Agriculture Machinery Centre (AMC) officially released four books on farm mechanization yesterday. The Honourable Director, DoA officially signed and released the books in presence of Program Director, AMC, chiefs and officials from AMC at the chamber of Director, Department of Agriculture. The books were on Farm Mechanization Need Assessment Survey Report, Power Tiller Mechanic Training for National Certificate Levele-2, Power Tiller Operation Training for National Certificate Level-2 and Quality Management Manual.

    The result of the Farm Mechanization Need Assessment Survey, analysis and the outcome is expected to be consistent with the actual needs, and thus strengthen the farm mechanization interventions. The shift in the approach is a step to revolutionize farm mechanization making it vibrant and ensuring relevance. The outcome of the survey was launched with objectives to identify the difficulties faced in farming, which can be addressed by farm mechanization interventions and it will form a guide and focus for the 12th five-year plan. The survey was conducted by involving over 100 farmers in each Dzongkhags.

  • Study visit for Land Use Certificate Project Youths

    The Agriculture and Research Development Centre (ARDC)-Wengkhar and Trashiyangtse Dzongkhag conducted a study visit on 4-5 September for 11 youths who has recently started the Land Use Certificate (LUC) Project in Tsendung, Trashiyangtse.

    The youths attended an awareness program on commercial farming at Wengkhar and nearby commercial farms in Mongar especially those initiated by youths such as Mongar agro-processing enterprise by four youths and a youth initiated commercial farm in Jangdung.
