White Paper on Bhutan School and Hospital Feeding Program online
School Feeding Program has now fully transitioned into a national school feeding program and the Royal Government of Bhutan has directed the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests to supply the schools and the hospitals with domestically produced quality food.

Consultation meeting between DAOs and National Commodity Coordinators held
26-29 August, Thimphu: A consultation meeting between the Dzongkhag Agriculture Officers (DAOs) and National Commodity Coordinators was held at the Natural Resources Development Corporation Limited hall.
The meeting discussed the annual performance agreement (APA) 2019-2020 for the department and the implementation modalities of National Organic Flagship Programme. Participants were presented on the preparation of annual work plan and activities. Participants also shared the annual work plan and activities for their respective Dzongkhags and regions.

To Happy Retirement – a Tribute to an Agriculturist to the Core
Mr Ganesh Bahadur Chettri who served in various positions within the Department of Agriculture retired last week after what he described as a memorable, fulfilling and enriching career dedicated to the Tsa-Wa-Sum. The advisor to the Department of Agriculture completed 35 years 5 months having also reached the highest position (ES1) in the civil service.
Born in 1959 in what is now Yoetsheltse in Samtse, Mr Ganesh B Chettri completed his bachelor’s in agriculture sciences from the University of Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. Following a six month stint with other graduates in rural Gongthong in Trashigang working on a rural water supply scheme as part of the National Service he joined the Department of Agriculture, then housed at Kawajangsa, in January 1984. He was soon sent to the then recently established Centre for Agriculture Research and Development (CARD) in Bajo, Wangdue as the officer in-charge.

DoA’s 8th Program Coordination Committee Meeting held
8th PCCM participants 28-29 August, Thimphu: The Chief’s of the three divisions, Program Directors of the four agriculture research and development centres and six central programs and concerned officers attended the 8th Program Coordination Committee Meeting (PCCM) of the Department of Agriculture. PCCM is one of the highest-level of decision-making forums of the Department.
The objectives of the 8th PCCM was mainly to synchronise the plans, streamline the roles of different agencies, deliberate on the program implementation issues and examine the existing policies and acts. The meeting also reviewed the resolution of the preceding PCCM.
