  • Re- Organic Fertilizer demand for coming up cropping seasons of FY2019-20

    NSSC is processing to procure and supply organic fertilizer for National Organic Flagship Program. As such, the Centre is in the process of compiling the requirement for the fiscal year 2019-20 cropping seasons. Therefore, all Dzongkhags/Centre Programs who have not placed demand are requested to indent your demand for organic fertilizer with NSSC. We have extended the submission date till 30th November, 2019.

    Please be informed that the demanded fertilizers must be lifted on cash payment soon after you are notified on their availability at NSSC. Your indent may be submitted in the format attached as per the fertilizers list attached.

  • Write-Shop on developing the national and regional cost of production (CoP)

    Agriculture Research and Extension Division (ARED) under the Department of Agriculture (DoA) organized a Write-Shop from 21-25 October 2019 at Namsay Chhoeling Resort, Paro to develop the national and regional Cost of Production (CoP) of various horticultural and field crops based on the nationwide CoP survey carried out by four Agriculture Research and Development Centre (ARDCs) and National Mushroom Centre. The participant during the Write-Shop comprises of CoP taskforce members from ARED, NSC and ARDC Yusipang, technical team from ICTD, MoAF and focal officers from ARDCs and NMC.

  • World Food Day observed in Sakteng

    October16, Trashigang: The World Food Day (WFD) is observed every year on 16 October to mark the foundation day of FAO since its inception in 1945. The day is also marked to understand the various efforts made by UN organizations like FAO, WFO, UNICEF and WHO towards providing nutritious food for needy ones around the globe during the difficult situations. To mark the day, various events were organised in over 150 countries across the world, making it one of the most celebrated days of the UN calendar.

    This year, the day in Bhutan was marked in Sakteng Lower Secondary School, Trashigang with School Agriculture Program (SAP) Annual awards. Around 1600 spectators including students, teachers, government officials, community leaders, farmers, parents and members of UN organizations gathered to mark the day with the global theme, ‘Our actions are our future, healthy diets for zero hunger world,’. The day promoted worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure food security and nutritious diet for all. WFD is a platform to showcase our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030 as well as to celebrate the progress towards reaching Zero Hunger world.

  • Inauguration of Bir Kulo Irrigation Somlachen village, Dophuchen Gewog, Dorokha Drungkhag, Samtse Dzongkhag 22nd October 2019

    H.E Lyonpo Lok Nath Sharma, Minister for MoEA & Ms. Kinlay Tshering, Director, DoA inaugurating the Irrigation system

    His Excellency Lyonpo Lok Nath Sharma, Minister for Ministry of Economic Affairs today inaugurated the 2.1 km Bir Kulo Irrigation system, which was constructed by Department of Agriculture through Food Security & Agriculture Productivity Project (FSAPP). FSAPP is funded by Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) Trust Fund through the World Bank. It is a five years project which started in 2017-2018 fiscal year and will end on 30th December 2022.
