    Registration of bidders for cordyceps auction for the year 2017 will be opened from May 15, 2017 onwards until May 31, 2017. Eligible bidders may register with Mr. Sonam Loday, Assistant Marketing Officer, at the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives Office, upon payment of Nu. 1000 per bidder. Kindly, find attached herewith, the registration form for your necessary action.

    7 May 2017, Dagala: The 18th Farm Shop of the Thimphu region was opened today by the Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Forests, Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji today. Also present at the opening were the Director General of the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives; Dasho Dzongdag of the Thimphu Dzongkhag Administration; and MoAF, Dzongkhag, Gewog and FCBL officials.

  • Pasture Renovation Program in Haa and Paro dzongkhags begins

    8 May, Paro: The major renovation of degraded pastures are underway in Haa and Paro Dzongkhags as an effort towards promoting sustainable utilisation of existing pasture. The main objective of initiating the renovation program is to boost fodder production and attain fodder security to sustain dairy farming in the country. Forty-six members of dairy farmers’ groups from these two Dzongkhags are involved in renovating their degraded pasture. In total, about 20 acres of degraded pastureland will be renovated.

    4 May, Thimphu: High level delegates from Bhutan, India and Nepal emphasised the need for regional cooperation on strengthening potentials and benefits of tourism at Thimphu in an event on ‘Shared Natural and Cultural Heritage for Sustainable Tourism in Kanchenjunga Transboundary Landscape’. Developing a short, medium and long term strategies focusing on nature and culture at transboundary level has been taken as a way forward as part of the Kangchenjunga Landscape Initiatives.
