ToT on Farmers Group/Cooperatives Formation for Agriculture EAs of Samtse and S/Jongkhar
The participants with the resource persons 16-20 July, Samtse: RDC Bajo, in partnership with the Department of Agricultural and Marketing Cooperatives (DAMC) conducted a five days Training of Trainers (ToT) on farmers group/cooperative formation for the extension agents of Samtse and Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhags from 16 to 20 July 2014 at the Samtse Geog Extension Centre. The training was designed so as to help the field colleagues in the dzongkhags to gain an in-depth understanding regarding groups and cooperatives formations. The resource persons for the training were from DAMC and RDC Bajo. With the launch of the rice commercialisation program, the Department of Agriculture (DoA) has initiated formation of many farmers groups in the potential rice growing areas. Twenty two extension personnel have attended the training which had the following broad objectives of Agricultural Cooperatives/groups:
