  • Consultative Meetings on Agricultural Marketing Policy

    October 16-19, 2015: The Department of Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives(DAMC) in collaboration with ICIMOD, Nepal hosted consultative meetings on Agricultural Marketing Policy for South-South Central and West-West Central Regions at Gelephu on 16 October and at Thimphu on 19 October.  The meetings were held to discuss, views, comments and recommendations on the Draft AMP earlier developed by DAMC.

    The representative officials and participants from DAMC, ICIMOD, Nepal, Dzongkhags/Geogs, Local Government, Custom, Trade, FCBL, Woman Groups and Private Enterpreneurs attended the sessions. The meetings are being assisted and funded by ICIMO, Nepal. The next consultative meeting for the Eastern Region is scheduled to be held on 18.11.2015.

    Phuentsholing: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for farm shops (Sanam Tshongkhang) implementation was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests and Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited (FCBL) on August 27. The Officiating Director for Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives and the Chief Executive Officer for FCBL signed the MoU in presence of the Hon’ble Agriculture Lyonpo, Yeshey Dorji.

    22 August, Paro: The crop intensification and, agriculture commercialisation is accorded high priority by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF) to realise the Royal Government’s policy of Food self-sufficiency. The Agriculture Machinery Centre (AMC), Department of Agriculture (DoA) in its support towards realising this policy initiated various activities under farm mechanisation.
