  • Press Release for cordyceps auction

    Cordyceps auction for year 2016 started since 14th July 2016 till 6th August 2016 for 7 dzongkhags namely Wangdue, Bumthang, Lhuntse, TrashiYangtse, Gasa, Paro and Thimphu covering 17 geogs.

    The total quantity declared at the auction sites was 458.422 kgs and the farmers of cordyceps collecting areas earned Nu. 151.43 million. The highest bid price was in Thimphu amounting to Nu. 1556000.00 (Fifteen Lakhs Fifty Six Thousand) followed by Nu.1550000.00(Fifteen Lakhs Fifty Thousand)in Bumthang. The lowest bid price was in Yangtse at Nu. 80,000.00 (Fighty Thousand) and 151000.00 (One Lakh Fifty One Thousand) in Wangdue dzongkhag respectively. The total quantity declared at the auction sites in 2015 was 271.002 kgs which is an increase in 2016 by 187.42 kgs.

    22 July, 2016: His Excellency Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk, Hon'ble Minister of Health and Representative for Athang Thedtsho Constituency, inaugurated the opening of Farm shops at Phangyul and Nyisho Gewog in Wangdue Dzongkhag on 22 July, 2016. Also present were Members of National Assembly, Wangdue Dzongrab, Dzongkhag officials and Officials from the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives and Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited.

    July 20, Thimphu: The Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo, Yeshey Dorji, handed over 600 copies of savings passbooks to RORUM Credit Cooperative, formed as an initiative of the Bhutan Association of Women Entrepreneurs (BAOWE) and supported by the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), Ministry of Agriculture and Forests.. The passbooks were received by the CEO of BAOWE.
