In this note, all agencies within the Ministry are hereby instructed to make full use of the services of Information and Communication Services (ICS).
All agencies, henceforth with the help of ICS will do media coverage for all activities and make appropriate press release whenever necessary.

Local Rice Marketing Program
With the support from Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF), Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited (FCBL) has undertaken the procurement, processing and marketing of locally produced rice varieties. FCBL procured about 385.52 MT of paddy from Wangdue- Punakha, Samdrup Jongkhar and Gelephu. Out of the total purchased paddy quantity, 293.52 MT of paddy has been milled recovering 176.1 MT of rice. The 92 mT of un-milled paddy stock will be soon milled at Chuzaygang Rice Mill. A total of 47.75 mT of rice has been already sold and FCBL still has 128.6 MT of rice in stock. In order to enhance the marketing of local rice, it is also being advertised through Local Channels at Phuentsholing and Thimphu. Further, this week, the availability of local rice for sale with FCBL will also be aired through BBS.
Therefore, we would like to request all our RNR colleagues to please pay visits to FCBL depots and retails to purchase and taste local rice.
