    This is to notify the general public that there is a confirmed outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) in Chandigarh, and suspected outbreak in other areas in Haryana State, India. As a precautionary measure to avoid incursion of the virus into the country, the Ministry would like to inform the public that import of live birds, all types of poultry meats, eggs and other risky poultry products originating from Chandigarh and Haryana, India are banned till further orders. The officials of Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) as per its mandate will step up vigilance and monitoring activities at the border check posts and entry points.

    The general public is requested to extend full cooperation.

  • Internet Speed Issue

    The Ministry has been facing the issue of slow internet connectivity for the last few days. We had been informed by Bhutan Telecom that the slow connectivity is because of some issue with the international gateway at Phuntsholing. The connectivity speed will improve soon as BT is working on it. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted.
