16 February, 2017, Wengkhar: The Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture & Forests, Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji, officially launched the website of Commercial Agriculture & Resilient Livelihoods Enhancement Programme (CARLEP) based at Wengkhar in Mongar Dzongkhag on 16 February, 2017.
The website has been developed recognising the growing emphasis on the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the delivery of information in a transparent and cost-effective manner. It is also aimed at establishing a robust Information Management System as part of Knowledge Management (KM).
Therefore, guided by the above objectives, the dedicated website with the domain: www.carlep.gov.bt, will serve as a repository of knowledge and information related to agriculture and rural development in the east. The website will publish a wide range of communications and programme materials (such as event coverage, press releases, annual reports, brochures and stories of change, galleries, etc.) to facilitate its work, promote its activities and share information with the programme implementers, donors and other projects both within and outside country. All the programme implementing agencies will have user rights to contribute news and field stories related to CARLEP. That way, it is hoped that the website will remain highly dynamic and updated on regular basis.
The website will also have a link to the Ministry’s website in order to have a wider coverage.
