The National Organic Programme (NOP) coordinated a programme to attend an International Conference at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi during the 10th Edition BIOFACH INDIA, 2018 from 25th to 26th October, 2018.
The conference theme was “Enhancing Organic Food Trade from India Strategies and Synergies “,it covered all the issues related to organic farming such as processing of organic products, ensuring traceability from farm to fork, multiple compliance requirements by the organic operators and digital tracking modules for organic operators. The event also provided a platform for organic operators to promote their organic products and network at a common platform with the leading organizations from India and all over the world.
The participants were from central programmes, Department of Agriculture marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), Dzongkhags, Youth group, farmer and Agriculture Research and Development Center, Yusipang.
The total of 12 officials attended the conference with two organic operators as exhibitors. The organically certified products like turmeric from Zhemgang and herbal teas from Bumthang were showcased during the exhibition.
The entire programme was supported by NAPA III, A RGOB initiative with UNDP, funded by GEF-LDCF project under NOP.
