October 8-10, Zhemgang: The first ever three-day Bhutan Bird Festival concluded at Tingtibi. The Festival was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji. Lam Neten of Zhemgang Rabdhey, Hon’ble MP Dasho Dorji Wangdi, Dasho Dzongda, Sector Heads, Teachers and Students attended the festival.
The festival gathered more than five hundred people from Khengrig Namsum displaying their indigenous arts and crafts for public viewing.
The festival also hosted a bird photography competition and a bird-athon. Local schools also took part in a quiz competition on the biodiversity of Bhutan.
This festival was expected to promote tourism in Zhemgang.
