In order to take beekeeping to the greater height for the benefit of farmers and the environment conservation National Apiculture Program (NAP) based at National Highland & Research Development Centre is conducting the basic beekeeping training to the livestock field extension agents from 14th to 20th May 2018. The fund for the event is supported by GEF LDCF supported by UNDP.
Participants from 13 different Dzongkhags are participating in the event trained by the beekeeping technical staff from RLDCs Tshimasam and NAP. This is the second batch extension staffs for such training who are expected to play crucial role in beekeeping development in the 12th Five Year Plan (FYP).
They will be provided with the hive set and basic beekeeping tools to kick start beekeeping in their areas which will be serving as the demonstration site for the farmers in their respective gewogs.
