24 March 2014, Jakar: A two-week training on ‘R-Statistics’ is currently underway at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE), Lamai Goempa, Bumthang. More than fifteen participants from Department of Forests and Park Services, Department of Livestock, Ministry of Education , Ministry of Health and UWICE are attending the training.
‘R’ is a free open source programming language for statistical computing and graphics. Many universities worldwide have adopted ‘R’ as their program of choice for analysing research data and for classroom instruction in statistics. The main purpose of the training is to develop basic skills of data analysis and graphing in R, using real data sets.
Dr. Ellen Cheng, research scientist of the Institute is providing the training.
