26 March, Thimphu: The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests has completed formulation of its draft Key Result Areas and Key Performance Indicators for the 12 Five Year Plan and the consultation processes with the Local Governments going on full swing.
Led by Dasho Rinzin Dorji, Hon’ble Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, the 12 FYP consultation with the Local Governments are taking place in full swing starting 20 March through 27 March 2017. The consultation meeting will end with the Trashigang cluster for six eastern Dzongkhags on 27 March in Trashigang. The consultations are undertaken to synchronise the Ministerial Plans with the Local Government Plans as the Local Governments will be responsible for the implementation of the major chunk of the agricultural plans and programs. Besides discussion on 12 FYP AKRAs, KPIs and targets, the consultation also provide a platform to share and discuss common issues and wherever possible mutually agreed solutions.
The consultation meetings are attended by the Dasho Dzongdags, Dzongkhag Thrizin, District Planning Officers, Dzongkhags and Dzongkhag Livestock Officers. Such consultation meetings are seen as avenues to come to a common understanding of the Ministry’s goals and objectives – evidenced from the feedbacks received that such consultation meetings for the first time is a way forward and a new initiative in not only planning but also implementing the 12th plan in a more coordinated, focused and result oriented manner.
